Not sure if this is in the right place, but its only a really quick question before i phone up.

because my mini failed its MOT, i need to get insured on our land rover.

To qualify for classic insurance it says on the footman james website:
How old does a vehicle have to be to qualify for classic insurance? Posted Image Posted Image Normally 15 years, however this reduces for certain specialist marques.

Does a land rover count as a specialist marque?

Its a 1997 defender, making it 14, 15 next january, but i'd like it insured before then!

Metro's aren't classed as a classic unless they're built before 1992. Next year, 1993.. so it changes for different cars.

Classic insurance is about the car obviously but more so your own detail, eg for most classic polices you need to be aged 21, 25, 30 or over, second car, limited mileage, garaged etc
