My mate just bought one of ebay for £300 and it cost him £150 to get it back on the road, there nice cars and do about 45mpg.
This ones pretty cheap but its a convertable so might be a bit chilly in the winter but if you just use it up intill Summer you might be able to sell it for more:

There loads on ebay but this one caught my eye a few days back, i like the small vans like this even though it dosen't have an MOT or Tax if you get it cheap enough probably be able to get it through the MOT with a little bit of extra cash.
