righto, ive purchased sum chrome body side mouldings that go over the seams, do I take the thing off that is currently over the seams?

Yes that's the idea.

thanks pete! I assume I just prise it off with a screwdriver then push the new one on? I've got no new clips

Yeah, but if you're using a screwdriver, put some plastic or something hard and non scratchy on the body to lever off, or you'll chip the paint. I use a filler spreader. Oh and you can use the old clips, or get new ones, can get em in stainless.
