THE PANDAMOKE - FIAT PANDA BASED MINI MOKE REPLICA
Posted Image

"The Pandamoke is a prototype rather than a kit car and is almost certainly unique. It was professionally built by John Berry of BRA cars, noted for their Cobra replicas. It was featured in Kitcars International in February 1990 and in Kitcar in April 2002. The original Fiat Panda was first registered in January 1982, and was rebuilt as the Pandamoke around 1989. The 1995 MOT records a mileage of 69151, with subsequent increases, this year showing 77216, so it may be the true mileage of ther vehicle, though this cannot be confirmed.

The chassis is a space frame of rectanfular steel tube with the original Fiat Panda bulkhead and engine bay welded to it, the original 903cc engine and transmission also retained. The body panels are of zinc-coated steel riveted or screwed to the space-frame. The Pandamoke is front wheel drive, but according to the Kitcars International review, the original wheelbase was retained in order to enable the fitting of Fiat Panda 4X4 mechanicals. As almost all the components are from the original Fiat, it is simple and spares are readily available. It is fitted with alloy wheels, apart from the spare wheel, which is steel. A bench type rear seat is available, but not currently fitted. The hood has two zippered doors at the front and a zippered 'hatch' at the rear. The hood is supported by a roll cage when up, but can be removed and folded up when weather permits.
