OK...dont scare me!!!!!
Hmmmmm not sure what to say, I know he did ALOT for charity ect but I always found him a bit odd
Use to watch Jim'll Fix It as a kid, and remember watching the Louis Theroux programe on him
I like people that are different to the norm, but there was something 'not right' about him, a bit creepy maybe, not sure, ummmm errrrrrrrrr

My Uncle knew him from the Stoke Mandeville burns unit (one of his charity hospitals fundraising things)
He did a hell of a lot for charity
but also seemed a bit creepy to me
was he also the first DJ to use Twin Record Decks ???

yeah he virtually invented the disco, twin decks and the concept of people dancing to pre recorded music

Not something I have ever heard, why do you say that?
There were quiet a few rumours about him over the years, the paedophile rumours were quite well known, "Louis Theroux" even asked him about them when he interviewed him in the "When Louis Met Jimmy" documentary on BBC2 a few years back. I think he was probably better known for the necrophilia rumours though, in particular that he was banned from entering St. James Cemetery in Leeds! As I recall, they all started after it was reported in the press that he spent 10 days locked in a room with his dead mother after she died!
I have no idea if any of them were actually true, but I think it's more than likely that they were fabricated simply because he was a bizzare, odd ball character that was hugely successful, which automatically made him a target. I was never a fan of his myself though, simply because I was one of the 20,000 kids who wrote to him each week who he never fixed it for!!!
