Hello there I'm trying to trace a 1967 morris mini minor saloon history, I've managed to get the Chassis Number through the engine number via british motor heritage, but before I can get the documents relating to the car I need to prove that the shell is original to the car, but the VIN plates have been removed and there are no number plates.

Engine number is 8AM-U-H/1213
Chassis Number (removed)
Body Number (removed)
Built 17th March 1967

Now i'm not sure if this is going to be of any help to you but in the past on my Clubman the previous owner had sent away to DVLA requesting previous history on him. They used a form VQ7 and got a lot of Micro film copies of everything they had on him at the time. This however was in 94.

Worth a punt maybe??

So far so good to be honest - least with the shell, the floor is solid as is the roof. I'm in the process of stripping it using various methods and getting various degrees of success. I have started a build thread but have reached my photo upload limit so will have to upgrade.

Will defo give this a go if my current avenue leads to a dead end. I'm in no rush - will continue to sort the shell out and see what happens, if I end up with an age related plate - then i'll just do whatever I want with it. However if I manage to get the correct V5 then I will try to keep it as original as I can. Many regards and thankyou for you interest.
