Good Evening

Searched all over the forums and couldnt get a definitive answer so here it goes.....

In order to fit my new fuel filter to my 95 SPI, i also need to replace the hoses as they are corroded and one of them cracked and leaked fuel (bad i know!)

Now part no-WKB10018 is the SPI and early MPI hose from the fuel filter to the Main fuel lines. This requires the adapter part no-WKB10019 which retails on average £18 alone. The later hose for the later minis part no-WKB10018L does not require the adaptor and screws straight onto the fuel filter.

Would using the later fuel hose on my SPI work? avoiding to fork out for the adaptor?

below is the dit from minispares website reference the additional adapter:

UNION FOR FUEL FILTER ON INJECTION MODELS- WKB10019
Union for fuel filter outlet to fuel pipe on single point injection cars and early MPI (TO WD169573). Requires 2 EDP9976 seals. On later cars the union on the fuel line screws directly to the filter.

Any help will be appreciated :)

I did this today, hopefully making the routine change at service easier.  I wouldn't try it without at least two hose clamps.  I was warned about some fuel leakage, but it just kept coming from the tank outlet, so you need clamps. With clamps it's easy enough with the car on ramps, not high enough on axle stands. Biggest pain in the ar$e was leaning into the boot to get at the pipes, I'd suggest removing the boot lid, but I didn't want to risk the crusty looking fixings on mine.

I used this filter which has a huge list of applications, so should be easy to get hold of in future.

Filter bracket was also a dreadful mess with all the fixings seized.  This has been replaced with new stainless item from Smiffys bits, cheaper than mild steel elsewhere and comes with all the fixitings, others don't.
