Ok, thought Id share whats happening on my latest project.
Im from south Sweden, have had Minis since late 90's but never really done any heavy TLC on my own.
A couple of years ago I found a nice project that was started on but never finished, a Roadster!
Have dremt of having one for a long time so it was perfect, all rust and major construction already done.

Plans are to get a old look, a mix of mk1 and 2, 10x6 banded steels and gloss black.
Engine-wise I think Im gonna use a 1275cc with a dellorto. Not sure tho if I should go with it or change to weber or dual SUs. Aiming to get something like 70ish BHP.

Have sent subframes for powdercoating with a couple of other stuff.
My steelies is sent away aswell for banding and powdercoating.
I got a cooper disc setup, GAZ shocks and hi-lows and a maniflow-system ordered and deliverd.

My plan is to have it up and running by may next year. :D

The idea is to take the head for a checkup and also the carb.
Looks like standard MG 1300 block and head but I havnt looked at the cam yet.

hello, was wondering how you attached the spit to the car in the boot, and did it damage the car in anyway like conventional spits that go all the way threw the car thanks!

long since update but sadly not much have happend...

First, about the spit..sry for missing your question.
No damage, if you are a bit careful. Just a weld just inside the boot for extra stability.

Im not gonna sandblast it so instead its hours of grinding...

Posted Image

and noticed more rust...
Gonna roll it over and look how it looks on that side before order floor-panels.

flipped it and the other side looks much better.

Also Im gonna weld up all vent-holes. Its roofless, how much more air do you need lol :)
Gonna fit a micro-heater instead of original matrix, warm air I could use tho...

Posted Image

...and finally, gonna square-out my rear foor. Want the rear silencer as high I can and no need of sparewheel.
Modded battery-bucket will be used as carb-housin in enginebay...perhaps, if I go weber/dellorto.

Thinking about arches...right now Im thinking group 2 extra wide with chrome lip. Looks awesome :)
They should work on 10x6 ´without spacers, right?
