His like a lot of other vauxhall conversions used an allspeed frame although they are not going to let you copy their frame. Others such as myself have built their own frame. This was done by reading through loads of builds, looking at other peoples frames, measuring the mini to see what will and won't fit and then offering up the engine to see where the engine mounts need fitted.
Here is the link to my build diary where my frame can be seen

I do have rough sketches somewhere with some rough dimensions on them but found afterwards I had to cut my frame apart and redo bits of it. That is the trouble of building a frame in nottingham when your car is in stafford.
You will need 30 x 30 x 3 mm steel box section and a load of 3/16" or 1/4" steel to make the engine mounts from. Also some range rover/ landrover gearbox mounts (x4), a welder (obviously) and an engine crane because trust me if you build your own frame the engine will be going in and out of it a lot.
I still think it was worth it though for the saving I made compared to buying one.

thanks, yes i have seen bens as he only lives down the road, will be an awsome car when its on the road, i was thinking of this engine as i have one in the garage that came out of a mk1 astra sr, as the astra is having a 1.8 fitted, i have had a look at a few but was just wondering if anyone had any dimensions. fitting and positioning and welding isnt a problem, just though i would see if anyone has one.The E16SE engine has been fitted to a mini before.
