I am looking for advice about a sub and what is good or bad about my set up.
All I have is a kenwood kdc-bt40u head unit and a set off kenwood 4 way 6x9 with 450w peak power mounted under the rear seat

mini sound system 101:

A headunit (durr! :) )

Front comps (preferred is 6.5")

10" sub in the boot or 2 small subs under the rear seats.

4 or 3 channel amp. (To power the front comps and the sub/subs)

And that is all you need.
Rear speakers are not a good idea, as a mini is just too small for 'rear fill'.

If you put a sub in the boot you need to sound deaden and ensure there is ample air flow in to the cabin.

Sub in the boot and full speakers on the rear shelf do not work unless you box in the full range speakers and make extra holes in the shelf for air flow... But as said rear speakers are a bad idea.

And please do not get me to comment on 6x9's as I don't like upsetting people...Well not on a weeknight ;) LoL

Can you comment on 6x9's please? :)

Oh and just to clear things up; it's spelt 'advice', not "advise". That annoys me everytime I read the damned thread title. :P

Ruckus - I wasn't aiming that at you in any way, so don't worry :P

Plus, I was joking about the 6x9's, because you told us not to ask. :D

Also on spelling, this forum has some of the worst spelling and text speak I've seen 'init' ;) and I'm a dyslexic! Sometimes it taks 3 reads of a post to understand what is meant... Anyhoo.

Actually I want to take back my aforementioned statements.

Feel like I'm turning into a grumpy forum complainer. Sorry :P

I have 2 6.5'' speakers in a speaker board under my back seats. So do you think it would be better to move them up front, and stick a couple of small subs under the back seat instead?
Thanks

Any subs you can recommend, for a reasonable price? (under £100 each) :)
Thanks

A pair (if you can push the budget) of these would be amazing.

http://www.caraudiod...udio-6w3v3.html

to be honest if you dig around you should be able to find them closer to £100.

Any chance there is anything on a smaller budget? Maybe around £100 (ish) for both? Us students don't have very much money, cus I guess I will need to also buy an amp :(
