It does depend on several things.. but.. max rpm is at 6200 but power is from 1000-5800. This taken from the camshaft directory that used to be on here somewhere!!

It does depend on other things though so probably not 'accurate' enough.

The Kent 266 is a very similar cam profile & lift and it gives max power at about 5800 rpm. So, for the very best performance you would change up at around 6300 rpm to keep the power in the middle of the graph so that you pass through max power in the next gear.

That would be the figure for absolute max performance with that cam. As a general driving cam you need to look at the torque curve and drive so that the max torque is mid-way between gear changes. It's probably around 4800 rpm, so allowing an average rev drop of, say 1200 rpm between gear changes at c.5000 rpm, you would change uo at 5400 rpm to keep it at optimum torque.
I use a 286 and when really trying, as on a tarmac stage, I peak the power at 6400, so I change up at c.6800 rpm and the revs drop to about 5700 rpm with my gearing.

Happy belated Birthday cooperman

Well thank you for that. I went out with my 17-year-old (just) Grandson in his 1997 Mini MPI and his road driving is very good already. Then my 21-month old Grandson arrived for dinner with my son and his wife. so it was a very good day.
