i cant believe im saying this, but im thinking about having a stereo in my mini! do you guys know of any retro/70s look head units and speakers, as my car is a 74, it would look silly with a "kenwood flashy lights dvd pop out screen" thing.

any help would be great, thanks guys

You could mount any period looking stereo on view, then put a more modern one hidden away somewhere with a remote control??

I can't stand the head units that MOSS sell. Although good in theory they're bloody pain to get everything lined up correctly and look very tacky. Personally I would go for a hidden head unit (I've seen one mounted in a door pocket that looked good) or just a nice understated unit in plain view.

That is a bargain for a P77, they are becoming rare and look as retro as you like and have great sound.

At its price point it can not be beaten on sound quality IMO, it even has high spec Burr Brown DACs.
Even if you don't like the sound at this price you can sell it on easily.

Do you still have 2? If they are complete I'll have one for £50..

if you get one like mine with a remote, it can go anywhere.

This is something ive been thinking about for a while now. I always wanted an all singing all dancing stereo but now I got the pick up... I just cant bring myself to sticking a touch screen head unit in the Pick up. I always wanted to be able to play music videos as well as the music (purly for passanger pleassure only!) but now I think I will just go with a retro looking head unit.

The pioneer p77mp looks ok, but anything else people could recommend?

Mcintosh headunits are all very retro, but not cheap.

Nakamichi also have some retro looking units.

Or and older Blaupunkt? Even in the 90's Blaupunkt units looked like something from the 70's!
