Hi have a problem with my rear lights and sidelights and dash light, all of them don't work but everything else does, have to have fog lights on the have rear light and my headlight work on main beam and dipped.

I suspect the switch is at fault as in the first position it does nothing, then on the second the headlights come on.

Was just wondering opinions before i go ahead and order one! Any way of checking this without having a new switch to hand?

Thanks

Before replacing the switch, check your grounds. Not sure what year your vehicle is but rear lights (not brake lights) and sidelights and dash light may be on the same circuit so- depending on year- also check Fuse #4 (the bottom one in a four fuse block on the bulkhead) and the line fuses on the bulkhead behind the carb. The Haynes manual will tell you which fuses control these lights on your year Mini. Main and Dip beams are on a different circuit.

As above, check the in line fuses behind the air filter/ above the carb. On later models one of these in-line fuses protects the tail lights, side lights and instrument pack illumination circuits.
