Hi

I will shortly be attatching my gearbox to my engine, and I have noticed what seems to be a strange hole on the side of the gearbox casing.

The gearbox is a hybrid 4-synchromesh magic wand.

It is on the side of the gearbox which fixed to the transfer case.

The hole is roughly rectangular, but It appears to have rough edges. It can be seen near the bottm right hand side of the transfer case looking at the photo.

Is this OK to have, when considering there is another hold about it (a perfectly round one?) Is it sopposed to be there, or is this gearbox casing scrap?

I guess if the transfer case fills with oil as the gearbox does, this rectangular hole is not a problem, right??

Thanks

Oh NO! Not a hole there ???? It's fine - just the casting making it 'rough' round the edges..........
