I had lots of problems trying to shut my boot after fitting a new seal - mine is the early type that goes on the boot lid itself. I tried the other type too in the hope that if i could get it shut it would crush down a bit but the boot just would not shut.

Anyway I came across Phoenix trim.

Phoenix trim do all rubbers for classic mini including an alternative boot seal if your having trouble shutting your boot.

Works a treat! It is stick on and it even comes with the tape on the back which is very sticky.

Hope this helps someone :shades:

because there is no adjustment on the boot lock you need to adjust the metal plate it goes behind, its done using a pair of molegrips.

Yeah Phoenix trim are great!! They really know their stuff too, you tell them what trim you want and they tell you how much of that trim you will need for a classic mini. Their prices are fantastic too, so much cheaper than everywhere else!!

is it OK to fit the boot seal that attaches to the boot rather than to the lid to a mini that is supposed to use the early type seal? other than obviously being able to see the holes, just prefer the late type seal.

It glues in place over the holes where the original clips would have been....
