I've just turned 17 and brought myself a 1988 austin mini designer.. in black...

I've had my dad sort out the majority of the rust and brought a bumper and stereo, not sure however how to get it looking fab!

any ideas?

Shiny isn't my priority at the minute, i'm hoping to buy things to make it look better, i was thinking about chrome side mirrors...

give your wheels a clean? Mirrors? Wipers? Chrome gutter trim?

Chrome mirrors would be good, a set of chrome wipers, arms, grommets & washer jets would also stand out well on a black car. A chrome door handle set would also stand out too (your door handles look to be the black or grey type). I would also change the indicator lenses and side repeaters for clear versions with orange bulbs, as they look a little more modern than the original orange type do.

Some silver/chrome trim along the edges of the sills (between the arches) would also look good, as wood chrome/silver gutter trim around the edge of the roof. If you have a little more cash to spend, then I would also consider respraying the roof Silver!!

But it's all a matter of taste and choice really. Have a look at some other peoples cars here and pick out the ideas that you like the look of.
