Hi all.

I was hoping that someone out there has a fitted a van grill onto a saloon?

When my mini resto is finished (please let it be soon so I can go back to having money in the bank again) My mini is just gonna be a cool little motor to thrash around in, rather than being restored back to it's original form.

I've been trying to decide on the best looking grill to pop on it.

I want the front to look a little mean and I reckon the van grills have it.

If you have a saloon with a van grill I'd love to see a pic or two.

cheers

I've seen a few around, sure you can make them fit pretty easily with grille buttons.

The original prototype 850's had van-type grills to make the car less expensive to build, but it was found to make engine access so poor that the removeable grills were installed instead. Having had vans and a pick-up I can tell you they make it very difficult to work on the front of the engine and do look a bit 'cheap'.

grill buttons would work but will it still have that flat flush look if its just being held on......mmm??

Remember seeing that white one on the red bandit steelies in MiniMag, just wow. Most of those have the front panel from the van welded in which is a pretty drastic move just to change a grille. I like the removable one on the white mini, if you put a bead of rubber around the back you could get away with it looking more flush while still having it removable.
