Hi.

For sale is my fully worked 12g295 cylinder head. It has only just been overhauled with new bronze guides, valve stem oil seals, and the valve seats have been re-cut and valves lapped in. The head has expensive rimflow race quality valves fitted (32mm inlet and 26mm exhaust), and it has also been ported and polished. It's been skimmed to allow fitment to 998's with flat tops at a compression of 10.5:1. I had this head fitted to my 998 fast road engine with a 276 cam and it really did fly. When fitted with a mg metro cam it made 65bhp and 60ftlb of torque....... with the 276 I'd say it was capable of 70bhp.

Its been back on my engine for around 100 miles with no problems. Unfortunately my piston rings have given up the ghost so ive decided to go down the big bore route. No need to pocket your block with this head..... I've used it with a 276 cam and coopers S rockers with no issues. Just drop it on and go!

Pics to follow.......

£225 ono

Also forgot to mension, the head is leaded and therefore will require the use of a leaded additive.

What mods would a standard 998cc (apart from stage 1 exhaust) need for this head to work effectively?

Thanks

Providing you've got a decent exhaust system i.e. an rc40 and an 1-1/2" carb then you should see some very satisfying results.

......... Really! To make the most of this head a cam would be good yes, but you'll still see some fair gains over the standard 998 head without a cam change.
