Im doing an essay for uni at the moment based on car culture and Im looking for individuals opinions on car culture.

I must stress this does not have to be related to minis in any way but you are the largest car community I'm associated with so thought i would ask here :)

Can be as short or as lengthy as you want, it doesn't matter either way. Also don't feel you have to agree with what has beens said already, try to say what YOU think not what everyone else thinks.

Thanks and I await your replies!

Andrew

(PS deadlines wednesday so any replies asap are highly appreciated!)

A culture can be defined as "the way we do things around here..." so this could be looked into with the different cultures of,say, the vw lot, drift scene, streetrace etc. Would get some good variance and discussion on it!

Car culture to me is the type of cars, driving, racing and style of modifying you car.

I would also add that it includes everybody. From those who can drive, those that race, those into classics, etc. It should even include those that have not interest an drive and those that are interested but can't drive.

Remember that you need to reference anything that is said in this thread if you use it in your work. Therefore you need to know someone's name (not user name) to say who wrote it.

In this case Michael Jones.

Doesn't matter what work you do you must always reference. Its a good habit to get into as if you don't reference you can end up getting kicked out of university for it. I've had to do it ever since college. I have had the joys of being called into a meeting about plagiarism because someone else had used my work (set of photographs) and not referenced them. Both parties can get in trouble for it from one person's mistake. In my case it was not deemed my fault.

i think for me its all about the pure love of cars. literally nothing could take my car away from me and ill never love anything in the same way, its completely unconditional. being into cars has brought me to know people on a few scenes, and to me those people are the more interesting and important people in life, anyone who shares the same passion

Car Culture...Its a whole lifestyle for some people...From the words we speak to the clothes we wear...There are words used in the english language these days that hve been derived purely from the use of motor vehicles...The fasions we wear are sometimes influenced by the cars we drive...we go to meetings and social events which revolve around cars, to meet and chat to car people. Im not just talking about youngsters here that talk about NOS and turbo's...No the whole culture affects every member of society from your Granny to the child strapped into the fashionable car seat in the back..

I could waffell on for hours but I hope this will get you started.
