Hi

I need to get a new radiator cap for my mini. The car is a 1960, 850cc model which is completely standard. The engine has been rebuilt to original spec.

Originally, these cars were supplied with a 7lb radiator cap. This might be a silly question, but would the best cap be a 7lb cap, or something of a higher rating?

Would the 7lb rating have been for the original type radiator itself? I have replaced the radiator with a more modern unit.

Thanks

John

7 lb cap is fine - but make sure you get one with the correct length of stem to suit your radiator.
