Hey guys. Got to the point in my rebuild where I need to start painting some of the 'under the car parts' First things are the hubs. What type of paint would be recommended for painting these parts? I want something black and hardwearing.

Hammerite was my first thought. Just wondered if their was anything else people would recommend. Looks like you've got a good finish on those though.

2k paints are quite hard wearing for those kind of bits too. or theres stuff like por 15 and chassis black which is very hardwearing stuff.

I'm going to use enamel chassis black... http://www.frost.co....lack-paint.html

Each to their own and all that.

Paul.

Rustoleum is good too and can be had pretty cheaply.

personally... 2k or POR 15... I HATE hammerite as it chips easy and is hard to get a good finish (I am a bit of a perfectionist though!)

Ironically, my hubs and drive shafts are covered in hammerite >_<

mine are currently pained with DGS (dirt grit and s.... haha) but i think for those components any type of hard wearing/ chip resistance paint would do, just go for the paint that has the colour you like!

What about Autotek Paints, anyone used them before? It says used by professionals in body shops on the can (not sure how true that is tho)

Chassis black is best! POR15 isn't as good as people say, doesn't adhere very well, flakes easily. Hammerite is good also.

What sort of chassis black Peter? My tin of it is made by POR15. Or is POR15 a type of paint as well as a brand?
