Mini is a small light vehicle - it does NOT need a silly servo!! Just fix the brakes......

It's quite a bit of work to change to the later servo system, as you need to change the pedal box assembly, master cylinder and the rusty steel plate under the master cylinders to a different type. Basically it would be better to strip all the bits out of a later mini.

My car is 1380 and non servo with alloy 4 pots. The standard disks and calipers are just as good though. Just make sure the brakes are all in good order and press harder if required.

It also saves cluttering up your engine bay with the big servo unit.

But if you really want a servo you can always buy the remote servo kit from minispares/minisport. You will need the larger master cylinder too of your adding the disc brakes & replacing drums. I personally prefer the servo. Maybe because I drive a modern car most of the time & am used to have instant brake response.

I run a single line system, with Cooper s discs and calipers with a cooper s servo on the front brakes only. As an experiement i disconnected the servo to see what difference it made and the brakes were useless. Cooper s servo is a 1.9:1 servo so effectively your applying double force.

It doesnt Clutter up space if you fit it under the dash board.

I thought servo's just do the work for you so you don't have to use so much force on the pedal. They don't increase brake power do they?

For all we know the OP has a bad leg, knee, hip, foot or whatever and not having to push as hard on the pedal would help. A servo helps no matter how light the car is and I dont see the problem in fitting one if its wanted.
