it is a pop-up sunroof and it appears to leak all around the outside. I have taken the sunroof off and other than being a bit flat the seal looks ok in my inexperienced opinion, its not brittle or cracked.

the seal being flat is the problem

cheap fix silicone the seal and stick the glass back in

if you want it to still work your going to have to find a seal, try and find a makers name and get googling for spares

if it's a rover fitment try a landrover parts place

Very True!! ... and whilst I myself have personal experience of making an effective temporary repair to a leaking sun roof with duct tape, I'm failing to understand how WD40 would be of any help!!

Also for a proper repair, see the advice in this recent thread:  http://www.theminifo...l=&fromsearch=1

Good point!! But using it on a leaking sunroof might then cause a few problems with getting the duct tape to stick afterwards!!

wouldn't the water displacer be fitted on top of the tape rather than under it ?

I've never heard of WD40 being "fitted" before, that sounds like some very precise squirting!!!
