You may be thinking why? I love the old 10'' wheel trims on the mini, but I'm driving a Rover Mini Sprite, and I dont really fancy downgrading to smaller wheels, the 12'' chrome hubcaps are impossible to get hold of.

So I wondered, how hard would it be?

Would be easy enough to put them on. But beetle wheels are 15" and would look way to big on a mini IMO

True I didn't think about that. I wonder if there is any way of manufacturing the 12'' chrome trims? meh

I should also add its IMP wheels you would need. They come in 12" and you can fit the chrome hub caps to those.

Sorry, I'm guessing this is a very nooby question, but what do you mean by IMP wheels?

It would not remotely be easy, regardless of the size! Beetle wheels use a 4 x 130 pcd fitment, the studs would be very close to the edges of the driving flange if they fit inside it at all. You would need completely custom drive flanges.

Imp wheels are wheels for a Hilman Imp.

I bet Hillman Imp wheels are going to be pretty hard to find! I'll try scouring around.
Meenwhile, I am going to try and contact a Japanese company who stock them, see how much I can get the shipped over for, if they have them in stock...

hi all
Imp wheels are wheels for a Hilman Imp.

the fitting hole's are larger to use 7/16 unf wheel nuts ,
mini 3/8 unf the standard mini wheel nut will only locate on a small area of the wheel and will keep working loose,

been there done that lucky only need new wing to repair.

it's only the late beetle wheels that are 4 stud [68 on] most are 5 stud 5x205 PCD about the same as a late minis disk

So would you not recommend using them? Or are you saying I need to buy larger wheel nuts if I use them?

You would ideally need to remachine the flanges to take 7/16 studs, then get some bigger studs and the nuts to go with them. Anyone know if the Imp uses studs and centering nuts like the Mini or if it uses another method to center the wheel? That will determine exactly what you have to do.

Bungle, I had a feeling older Beetles were 5 stud but couldn't remember any numbers. 205 is even worse though, as you say it'll never fit.

Seems like this is going to be a nightmare lol. Any other recommendations for getting the beetle wheel look?
