Working on the engine today and went to start her up and noticed the accelerator pedal has actually forced itself into the floor :s

ANyone know hwy this would happen? Anything i've pulled by accident that would cause it?

If it's difficult to lift the pedal by hand it'll be the pedal itself. If the pedal lifts but doesn't release the cable, this can be caused by the cable welding itself to the outer - a sign of a broken engine earth.

I can lift it by hand but it just flops back down.

Is the fault within the bulkhead then or in the engine?

Snapped throttle cable then. To check, move the pedal up and down, while someone watches the carb - if the linkage does not move, replace cable.

When you say linkage do you mean the spring? Because I've actually took all the throttle 'stuff' off by the card because I stripped the carb :L

The outer sheaf of the accelerator cable is held as it passes through the bulkhead and also by a small clip on the carb, check these. Also check that the cable still connected to the carb, I.e its not come out of the screw. Also check for operation of the carb throttle if its stuck in the open position the pedal will be on the floor.

Lol the pedal is returned by the spring on the carb
Carb must be on, otherwise the engine would not be ready to start
