after a slight disagreement with a member, it got me thinking, how many people like to mod their car so it feels more modern or keep is as classic and bare as possible??

I think its best to have a bit of both, like the old centre speedo, but you have to have a CD Player

I sort of like a bit of classic and modern as i prefer the centre binaccle etc inside with the original switches but prefer wider arches and wheels like the later minis. I suppose as mine is more classic than modern i must prefer classic

The same goes with me really. I have audio, central locking, alarm, digidash, will have megajolt. Better H4 lights.
But then i have older mods such as 10" wheels, rear louvre, mk2 rear lights.

Mines a null vote as I feel that I would enjoy some modern aspects in my classic styled car. Just because it's thirty years old, doesn't mean it has to have every aspect of being an old car, as things progress for a reason. I mean, would you listen to a simple radio when you can have a cd player. Do you use and escalator or do you always use the stairs. It's about making everything more comfortable and as enjoyable as possible for yourself

I'm not going to vote, because I'm in the middle.

I would call my preferred style 'modernised retro' , basically all mechanicals could be brand spanking new technology (7 post, fuel injection, coil overs etc) but it still has to look like the era it was made in (no silly bodykits or 'bling')

Bit of a mix for me too.

I love the styling & look of the 10" wheels, but hidden behind mine is a high spec braking system.

It has Mk2 rear lights yet at the front are day running led's and more powerful halogen headlights.

I really love the big centre binacle speedo, but have updated mine with led's and also updated the switches.

I don't have electric windows, but I do have the later MPI column which gives me more modern switchgear and intermittent wipers. I have also added extra interior lighting to make the care more user friendly in the dark.

I like the fact I have to pull a choke knob out to start the car, yet I have a modern, high spec radio with remote control. (It is mounted under the dash as it would have been 30 years ago).

The one thing I do miss from a modern car, is the 3 flash, "lane change indicators" when on the motorway and would love to find a way of incorporating that feature.

The best bit for me (may make me sound odd), is that I don't have central locking. Why? Because I absolutely love walking up to the car and having to actually use a key to unlock the door. :)

Regards

Steve
