This is the highlights of the Janspeed Mini that was used in the famous enthusiast video Janspeed DIY Mini. The car was stripped down to the last nut and bolt. It was designed by their race team along with the legendary David Vizard and then built by Janspeed's race engine builders. The car also featured in a magazine article.

janspeed stopped producing parts for classic mini's in the 90's, probably because there were that many people supplying parts for them by then that janspeed went onto concentrate on other things.
a lot of companies that used to tune mini's had mostly gave up on them by the mid 90's, companies such as janspeed & ripspeed ect were massive in the 70's and 80's, but other compaines were being created and i guess they were undercutting people like janspeed with their prices.
a lot of the guys that worked at janspeed, downton etc went on to work at places like M.E.D which is how these companies went on to become sucessful because of the knowledge these guys already had with tuning mini's.

Not completely, you can still buy tuning exhaust systems & big bore outlet manifolds, from them.
But all the other stuff is gone I traced down the company, who bought all the remaining parts & tooling.

Yes I know, I found one of them on the internet, he does race heads now, also for Mini,s

I noticed your avatar & signature, nice car. I own a 20 year Jubilee 1100 Special, but its the Danish version.

try to built one now for that price ? you would have a hard time, trying to get the engine/gearbox
built to that spec, for that sum.

i did have that video, i think it may be in the loft at my parents house........i cant remember what i did with it to be honest, i havent seen it for years.......i think the video was made in around 1988 or 1989
