It's claimed to be an remake, however the trailer scenes look like a bad Fast and Furious meets the Newer Italian Job, just done with Classic Mini's and a lot of blue screen computer generated graphics.

Good or Cheesy?

I'm not that impressed other then Classic Mini's being in it.

Looks shocking to be honest, the mini 'sound' at 28 seconds is awful! Sounds like an old porsche or summit!

Mind you, cant they just cut out everything and keep the bits with that bird in a bikini and maybe just film her crawling over a wet mini? Mhhhmmmmm that'd be much better..

More details on the Bollywood remake posted here from back in January:
http://www.theminifo...ian-job-remake/

“Players”, staring Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Bobby Deol, Sikander Kher and Neil Nitin Mukesh, is a licensed remake of “The Italian Job”.
The chase sequence of the British original of “The Italian Job” featured robbers driving Mini cars and was filmed in Turin, and a 2003 American remake was shot on location in Venice and Los Angeles.

The makers of a Bollywood blockbuster are emulating a slice of iconic Kiwi film Goodbye Pork Pie by driving a Mini through unlikely spots in central Wellington.
Part of the waterfront between Frank Kitts Park and the Lagoon was cordoned off yesterday to allow filming of three Mini Coopers being chased by a horde of black-leather-wearing bikers.
The vehicles sped through a fake outdoor market where a couple of actors had to perfectly time their jump to safety from the on-rushing cars.
The scene is part of the Bollywood production Players – a remake of the classic car-chase movie The Italian Job – currently being shot in Wellington.

Footage from the filming of the upcoming Bollywood movie Players at the Wellington lagoon:

A car and jet chase along New Zealands Wellington Airport runway and spectacular explosions filmed by whirling helicopters are set to force significant road closures when a big-budget Bollywood movie rolls into town. Wellington City Council is considering applications to close parts of the city centre for two weeks from mid-January for filming of an Indian remake of the Michael Caine classic The Italian Job. A shooting schedule for the film, titled Players, reveals many parts of Wellington would feature in the movie.

At the end of the day this film can only help increase the profile of the classic Mini and the original 'Italian Job' film in countries like India where few have even seen a Mini..............in the same way that the USA remake a few years ago using New MINI's aroused interest from many Americans to want a MINI or Mini and to seek out and watch the original film that they had never previously seen or heard of.

Looks cheesy to the extreme, though good fun.

I'm confused at the lyric being sung at 40 seconds in. Sounds a bit suspect to me... :-

I am just watching the Marky Mark remake one. It is what it is, but of course not a patch on the original. But that new one looks truly awful!

I love cheesy Bollywood films. I think this looks quite good if you can ignore all the unrealistic stuff. Shouldn't cinema be about escapism?
