Would a classic mini be any good for drifting with a rear wheel drive conversion? Either using a zcars kit or are there any other conversion kits out there using a front mount engine to a rwd kit? are there any good vids out there of a classic mini drifting as the ones that i have found on you tube arn't that great? Cheers

Not really that great for drifting....too short a wheelbase and just spin out when on the edge like that. Can be great rack cars but not drifters

My mate Mick built a mini back in the 90's called "Blue Thunder" which was featured in FastCar magazine. It was basically an Escort RS2000 reshelled into a blue mini clubman. RWD, it was an absolute sideways monster but I think it would be a real handful as a proper drift car, as stated above short wheelbase and wide track is not ideal!

by the way Blue Thunder is probobly still out there somewhere, does anyone know where it is? Last we heard it was in a box of bits being rebuilt, but that was several years back.

when i put the 2.0 8v in my clubman estate i was very tempted to put it inline as alot of my friends are drift mad and i thought id give it ago.... glad i decided against it tho as the minis cramped enough inside as it is without a huge trans tunnel haha
would of bin a mini carlton! haha

oooohh p.s a bloke i know called nick mossop has the mini zaki that was featured on front of mini world in 2008... thats got a kawizaki zx9 engine in the front running a cut down prop and back axle and that goes sideways reaaaaaaaallllly well lol
