Just realised that I'm due an upgrade and quite like the Nokia lumina 800.

Anyone got one, heard bad/good things about them?

Not had a nokia for years and they always used to be good phones.

Found this about the phone:

"if you want to be part of a carefully crafted, simple and generally happy emerging ecosystem, then look no further."

The OS is apparently fluid and smooth, and the phone is easy to use.

Looks like quite a good'un. :)

Simon.

I have another Windows Phone, the LG Optimus 7, they are really good phones! I don't think you'd regret buying one. The only disadvantage to owning a Windows Phone I would say is there aren't as many applications for it as Android phones or iPhones, but the app marketplace is still pretty decent and the OS probably has more native features than any of the other smart phone operating system. I believe Nokia Windows Phones also have a few very good exclusive apps for them.

i dont know what windows phone 7 is like, but god would i avoid any windows mobile device, they may have bucked up there act but i have had multiple old windows mobile devices and they are all a pile of (nice looking) useless bricks, but thats just my opinion, im on an iphone now after an android device and its just so much smoother and just works. :)

Windows Phone is a completely different operating system to Windows Mobile, literally.

had a look at one today, have got an hd2 at the mo but just didn't like the 800. nice build quality, fluid movement but just didn't get on with it, don't know why though?
might be with it having such a small screen compared to my htc?

Its a no go at the moment anyway!!

Vodafone want £95 to upgrade me to one of them or stick me on a 24 month contract....................NAH!!

I like my 18 month contract and will wait a bit.

I do still fancy one though.

No it's completely different. I had a windows 7 phone before my iPhone. It is a decent OS, and Nokia are decent. The main problem was the old Symbian OS was old and outdated. Now that has been sorted there is no reason they can't come good again.

Shop around, you'll find a better deal for a new customer on a new network.
