Just wondered if anyone on here had a set of them?! Im interested in getting some, i hear they have very wide offset so they may clear my metro 4 pots?!

These arent my pictures so i hope whos ever they are doesnt mind me showing them , but they are gorgeous!

just check the weight rating when fitting golf cart wheels to a mini

and you can't buy a road tyre for a 7x10 wheel

I wasnt asking about golf cart wheels, Gianni Potenza alloys are road legal. There are copies of them built for golf carts which may not have passed tests to make them legal but im pretty sure they are most probably built in the same factory and are just labelled differently after haha.

And tyres can be fitted to them, they may not be 7" wide but they can be fitted without too much of a stretch.

But thanks for your concern!

My main concern is if they will actually fit over my brakes.

Looking at that picture I doubt it. Every 8.4" vented disc and 10" wheels combo I've seen ends up with the wheels sat almost beside the calliper not over it.

It's also worth notting that Yokohama don't recommend you run those tyres on anything wider than a 6" rim so if you do have a crash and the insurance company digs they could avoid your policy.

Yeah that was my main worry, i have some 10" MAG superlights and even with 1" spacers they still wont fit so looking for some other 10" wheels that may work, ive seen Wellers fit and i beleived this was because of the wide offset, these also have a wide offset so was hoping for the best. Its not looking promising though.

And that is a fair comment to make regarding the tyres, but there are many people who run 10" wheels that are wider than 6" so there must be a way around that, surely?

998 engine trying to push 4 x 7" wide wheels which are probably so far offset that the inner side of the rim is outside the brake disc. at least the discs will be cool if it ever goes fast enough to need to use the brakes. Of course, I suspect it will handle that badly, that you will need to slow down quite a lot for every corner.

Partially true, it's because they are steel which means the metal is not so thick on the flange, also the shape of the wheel. But to fit 10x6" wellers, the calipers still need to be modified by relocating the mounting holes and some careful machining on the outside..

IMO, if you want 10" wheels, use 7.5 or 7.9" disks and appropriate calipers.

There is only one set of wheels which will fit an un-modified 8.4" disk brake system, and that's those with the huge offset which mount the wheel's inner edge outside of the caliper. You will require sportpack width arches to cover these wheels.

yes don't tell your insurance company , don't crash and don't let VOSA do a road side inspection

I havent got a 998 in my car? haha and fair enough if 10's wont clear my brakes then i will go upto 12's or maybe 13's!

I was speaking to my local tyre fitters and they said it is a grey area and it isnt illegal to have stretched tyres fitted and they will fit them.

The ones showed in the picture are the golf cart wheels but they look identicle to the wheels in question, it was just to get an idea of what they looked like! They are made of the same alloy and a mini is well within the weight limit they are designed for, some of the golf carts in america are road legal and capable of speeds most standard minis couldnt acheive!

Yes I posted something about it already but that's not his question, maybe the name of the topic is confusing. I'm also 99% convinced they are the same mt2man ;). Made in China by the way.
