We use them to value our Minis all of which and standard with no modifications. We tend to get them valued every two years just for insurance purposes really as we never intend to sell any of them. We’re quite happy with the valuations and they are what we expect. I feel that values they put on are are fair insurance values but not a value that you would be likely to achieve if you were to sell privately, although never having tried to sell any of ours, I could be wrong!

Is this worth doing with a normal mini ie: a restored 1979 super with a 1275 engine?

Or it this for original standard spec cars like cooper and cooper S etc that are worth big money? :proud:

I would have said so, would be a bit remiss of a national owners club turning their noses up at a modified vehicle.... :tumble:

It's worth doing if your insurer requires an independent valuation and you have no other way of getting one. A mini specialist garage, or classic car restorer can usually do this for you for a much more reasonable sum though and it's often free through your local mini club.

Other than for insurance purposes, formal valuations are pretty pointless otherwise. The figures quoted are rarely anything like the amount you are likely to get if you were to sell.
