I want a new dashboard but I'm torn. I love the Custom Consoles 3+3 clock dash with the 3 coloured sections on a coloured backing, but at £135 a pop it seems a tad expensive. Combined with the fact I want 5" speakers and the biggest holes they'll drill is 4" it's putting me off them so I'm starting to think about cutting my own out of MDF.

The first thing I've noticed is that the original dash is cupped so that the vents are closer to the driver, the center is closer to the engine. Does anyone know if the Custom Consoles dashboard is cupped like the original or just a plank of MDF - if it's just a straight plank with covering then £135 is very overpriced - materials can't cost more than £30 and it can't take more than a couple of hours to make!

Anyone made their own dash out of MDF + covering similar to Custom Consoles? I had a look through Dash Directory on here but most of them are just horrible Ford Ka dashboards (no offense if that's your thing) etc.

I'm thinking the same thing, I know there's templates out there but it's just finding the right one's. I'll have a browse and try and find some that might help you

Just done one for the daughters mini, got the plans from Ebay & MDF from B&Q.
Just take your time & it's straight forward enough, was going to cover it then decided on painting
