Anyone got a link to common bolt threads etc used on Minis.
I need a few nuts and bolts and am struggling with the sizes on Mini Spares.
Mostly I need the 1/2" spanner size UNF and UNC for engine bolts and also the 7/16" spanner size for the likes of the seat pivot nut and bolt and cooling fan.
Managed to buy 20 huge nuts last time 5/8 spanner size, must have asked for 1/2" unf during a premature senior moment.
Any help welcome.

Most common are:
1/4" UNF - 7/16" AF spanner
5/16" UNF - 1/2" AF spanner
3/8" UNF - 9/16" spanner
Lengths vary. Ity's a good idea to buy a mixed UNF nut, bolt and washer mixture with about 450 pieces for around £15-00 plus postage from Namrick Limited (Google them).

It mat be worth remembering that all the bolts in normal bits of the car (i.e. not some specific engine internals etc) should be grade S or 8.8, in terms of tensile strength. It is unlikely that you will find any lower grade UNF bolts.
But you can use allen head bolts, which are typically 10.9 or higher, if you want a better grade of bolt, or prefer the appearance. You will need Imperial allen keys. and the heads, or the tools, might not fit everywhere.
Stainless bolts are not strong enough except for lightly stressed things, definitely never suspension or subframes, but they can look good where it is safe to use them.
Bolts which screw into the alloy gearbox/clutch housing are often UNC, but the difference in thread pitch is quite obvious.
