Now some people will be thinking this only applies to motorcycles so they don't need to sign it. But if we let it happen to bikes soon it will happen to cars and any motor vehicle, meaning you will have to buy "official" spares and won't be able to modify your Minis. We need everyone who loves their cars and bikes to sign this and stop it from taking root.

Signed up. The bloody EU will ban everything if they get a chance. I worked with a German for a while who was amazed that I could fit whatever tyres I liked to a bike as his only legally allowed options were listed on his bike info. It meant that I had the latest and safest tyres and he was stuck with 10 year old tech. Madness,

It won't apply to classic Minis, only to new vehicles registered after the date the legislation comes into being.

Many years ago, when I worked for a living, my company did some consultancy work for a composites company. We were discussing GRP hardtops and the subject of selling them into Germany came up. It seemed the TuV were reluctant to accept mods as there had been a motorbike fairing supplied by a 3rd party company which had TuV approved. After 2 riders were killed in unexplained circumstances it turned out that as a bike with this special fairing was 'leaned' into a corner, with certain cross winds the aerodynamic effect could lift the front wheel off the ground. Hence the German suspicion of un-tested modifications.
