And yes my mate has a red sportspack with a union jack roof :proud: where abouts do you live ?

Aha!
I'm in Dorking. I have an anthracite mpi with red interior. I saw you two quite often over the Summer - if you are indeed the same pair of red coopers! Is it you or your mate that lives in my neck o' t'woods?

Yeah thats us im from Dorking also but work in Kent during the week and come back at the weekends.
And i have seen your car around the town was wondering whose it was ??

Yaaaaaay!! Them's the chappies! You look like non-identical twins together! I have waved a few times, but I don't think I've ever been in my Matilda at the time! :shy:

Really what did you have done to yours ?
The worst areas were the scuttle and door panel the rest was hiding under the wheel arches and under the headlights, wasn't too bad but had to come off

Wow, you're going the whole hog on it! It'll be worth it in the long run though, how I dream of a less rusty Mpi!!

On a side note, I bought mine from a chap in Dorking, nearly a year ago now actually. Small world!

This is my Mpi's thread, Mr Zeb: http://www.theminifo...__fromsearch__1

How are your sills, by the way? And the floor?

On a side note, I bought mine from a chap in Dorking, nearly a year ago now actually. Small world!

Dorking IS the centre of the Universe. FACT. :proud:

Oh and it looked so nice in the first photo! It's good you know it's true self underneath the paint and you're getting it sorted properly. I'm going to cry if I find a hole like that when in MPi when the windscreen comes out!

When I stripped my MPI I thought that the middle of the windscreen wasnt too bad, when i got the screen out I could have pulled the top dash rail off there was that much rust!

How much is all this work costing you and who and where is it being done?

Its such a shame our cars seem very prone to rust in this area and removal of the wings has to be done to replace the scuttle panel >_<

Its being done at West Sussex Restorations which is near Burges Hill.
Still don't know the full cost but its lots ! :ohno: wouldn't of been too bad but for the hidden surprises that lurked under the wings and windscreen

That's the problem with Minis - there's always more rust lurking round the corner! You're not alone - mine went in for sills to be done recently: quoted at 3-4 days, ended up taking 2 people 6 days :o Solid floor again is nice though!
