I think that the blocks are the same and a few other parts but im not 100% sure. i am only gathering this because my mate is restoring a morris pick up.

yeah, engines are both A series, just the gear box. as morris have rear wheel drive. yet the mini had the engine side ways with a all in one.

You would need to make the Mini rear wheel drive to fit a Marina engine.
The rear end of the block, the crankshaft, the oil pick up and the rear oil seal arrangement are all completely different.

It may be just the marina, but I've dumped other non mini/metro engines to the mini box. The rear main cap is not a problem, nor is the threaded pickup, but you would need to change the crank for a mini crank...
Similar to putting a meastro A+ block on a mini gearbox..
However, I would be tempted to say, advertise the engine on a morris minor forum, as these are sought after for 1300 conversions in that scene.... especially when bolted to a type 9 ford 5 speed box.

I'm sure my dad used the block from my mums old marina in one of his minis at one point...
