Hi,

I've been researching and reading about what speakers I would like to get for my mini, and trying to find places to listen to different speakers.

At the moment I have an Alpine iDA-x305s HU
&
a Phoenix gold xenon 100.4 amp which will be running fully active

I have a £225 budget for the speakers.

At the moment one of my options are the Focal K2 Power 130KR kit. (mid and tweeters).

I have been also looking into DLS

More specifically the DLS X-SA52's, again a kit with mids and tweeters. but these ones have a silk domed tweeter which supposedly is a less harsh sound.

so opinions please :)

Thanks!

i swapped the tweeters on my old 3 ways for the silk version and they were a lot less harsh, although they were only a Crystal set not quite as high end.
DLS have always had good reviews though, i'd certainly be happy to give them a try having not heard them before.

Cannot comment on tne components ypur looking at BUT, (Big BUT lol) i have 2 Dls w310 (i think) subs that i have had for years. They are sat in a cupboard and There is not a chance in hell i would sell them.
They are solidly built and sound awesome. The only down side is dependant on volume. They are quality as appose to quantity.
See if you can find a dealer and get a demo. If they are still the quality of the subs i have then i am pretty sure you will be impressed.

Dave
