I have stripped me engine down completely as it was smoking like a chimney, im not sure which piston rings etc that i would need for the pistons tho.
I have a 1275 metro engine, pistons have 21963 STD stamped on them

Just a standard set of 1275 A+ rings. They are the three ring veriety. Fairly common and cheep too. Just be warned that if there is a lip at the top of the bore indicating wear, new rings may not be the only thing you'll need. You may get away with a light hone. This should always be done with new rings anyway to let them bed in. Also worth noting, depending on severity of the lip at the top, you may concider leaving the top ring as original and replacing the rest. This is because the original ring is worn to the shape of the bore at the top and if a new ring is fitted, it may hit the lip and break. If anything new rings on a worn bore will improve the situation some what, but for how long??
A lip at the top means a rebore rather than new rings. You are welcome to try it with new rings only but is by no means ideal, you may well end up back where you started with a smoker.
You have to asses the parts you have as to condition before deciding which way to go.
Hope this helps

if you're having it rebored you'll need bigger pistons.
the +20, +40 etc is how many thou bigger than stock 1275 pistons they are. +20 will give you 1293cc.

nope, you'll need to buy a set of +20 pistons, they usually come with a new set of rings though.

just read about boring out to a 1380cc
Would i need to change anything else apart from pistons if i get this done?

technically no....but personally if i were going to 1380 then i'd do a full engine rebuild. plus i'd stick to a 1293cc anyway so the block still has some rebores left in it.

decent copper gasket will be fine. AF460 is the part number you need.
