I got my mini back from the panel beaters fully resprayed and the panel beater hasnt fitted the seam strips. They are sprayed do.I am wondering what people think about leaving them off.The car looks fine without them and they would only be gathering water.Should i leave them off or should i put them on.

I wouldn't fit them, just another area for much to get under and water trapped IMO

Depending on how good the joins are on the flanges will make a huge difference here. Personally i would fit them put spray some waxoyl in them first to help keep moisture at bay. Also a blob of seam sealant at the top as well to help prevent water from running down inside them.

Of course you should fit them. Water will almost certainly go inside the car if you don't. Fit as per Sonikk4's instructions above.

I agree, and water doesn't get inside them anyway, they always rust on the outside first

It is illegal to drive on the road without them, and you are likely to be prosecuted for having sharp edges on the bodywork if spotted by the police. So really there is no way to avoid fitting them.
I agree with sonikk4. Put lots of Waxoyl in.
