Has any one measured up to see if there is enough room to squeeze a Turbo onto this conversion, maybe to the side like the old Janspeed was (I think)
Any thoughts.........

I would have thought it would fit easily, if the honda b series fits a turbo micra will fit under a standard length front

Careful, the 1.3 has a bigger gearbox than the 1 litre gearbox, I'm doing a 1.3 into a roundnose and there's not a lot of room in the front. My gearbox looks larger in almost all dimensions than l_jonez's and BigChief's but is similar to Rid's one...

I think it could be done but it may not be as simple as with the 1 litre, on the other hand frank on the micra forum runs his 1.3 litre on the smaller Micra gearbox which would give you easier fitting but the gears may not suit the 1.3 and turbo.

Sorry :shy:

I think the later engines do have larger gearboxes than the earlier ones. I think BigChief explained it to someone else doing a micra conversion. Whats wrong with a little bonnet bump where the turbo sits anyway?

My mates currently building a micra turbo mini, currently building the subby and will more than likely have the turbo over the top of the box for extra space for the FMIC and oil cooler. His is going to be running about 150-160 bhp on low boost and be pushing over 200 when boost is turned up :)

Mine is the larger gearbox

The later face lift micra had the same larger gearboxes on both 1.0. And 1.3 just different ratios

Yeah your right, apologies turbo pixie looking at the images closer and yeah they do look the same. I think to some extent I though cause yours was a 1 litre it'd have the smaller box.... oops

Thanks for the replies.
Done some research, a t25 sounds the best option, 200sx fuel rail (modded) with injectors, afm from same car, small intercooler and remap, should see about 160-180 bhp safetly

That sounds similar to my final plan for my conversion, but I'll be running a carb rather than injection.

I was considering and still am The same thing only on an auto micra searching google ect. Seems quite an easy job. Although you could find a starlet gt turbo engine they are a very similar 1.3 engine already turbo'd. Then just run it with a td05. The outcome would be a pretty quick light weight version of the starlet galanza ;)
You could always stick a 2.0 primera in a micra though
