Hi all,

I've recently got an iPad 2 which is excellent for browsing the web etc so ive decided its time to upgrade my hp pavilion laptop dv7 model, maybe only just 2 years old, for a few months now it's been dragging is heels abit, I only really use for the web, pictures and word excel stuff but I'd like to do some upgrades to it, mainly so I'm able to do a bit more gaming on it, it also gets very hot and decides to shut itself down which is annoying, it runs windows vista so id like to upgrade to 7.

Now I'm not overly computer knowledgable but I I'm sure I can give this ago myself, can anyone recommend anything that I can do to upgrade and improve the laptop?

Thanks
Chris

Increase the RAM for speed. Get Windows 7 and install it after taking a backup.

Check that your current graphics card is adequate for the gaming you wish to do before you spend any money on it. If it is not then you will have to change the laptop really because the graphics card in a laptop in difficult to change becuase they tend to be integrated into the motherboard...

Just putting 7 on it over Vista will make a massive difference on its own!
