Hey there everyone!
Just have a quick question really regarding some really rusty bodywork on this mini. Obviously it is in need of new panels but am wondering what to do over the winter months as they are not gonna get replaced for a while. In certain areas (especially below the rear brake lights and under the headlights) the paint seems to have literally cracked of due to rust leaving what seems like exposed rusty metal. Just wondering what I can do about this to prevent it from getting any worse as I thought I'd do it this weekend while I'm wayoyling underneath the car. Will let the pics do the talking........

I would take a scraper to the paint to get the loose paint off, then use a wire brush to take off as much surface rust to see how bad it is, then you can decide what to do.

If its not all the way through and youve taken it all off with the brush then a bit of primer and paint. ( it has to be free of rust otherwise itll only come back)
Or if its really bad and you dont have the money, do as above but you can buy rust convertor, you just paint it on, some rust convertors you can primer straight on top of and fill and paint, only use as a quick fix tho rottern panels should be changed.

And if its to bad and theres Big holes Then unfortunatly the panels need replacing. That it a very common place for rust
