Hi,

got the 3rd motion nut off at work and have half stripped the box. How do these look please....

Primary, (I think) and drive gear..

If you can see there is some shine missing from the top 1/6th of the drive gear, is this just normal wear or has it had it ??
Lay gear ends and shaft ends..

Reverse gear..

Also, the oil strainer came out this clean..

So, should it be this clean or is it missing lots of crap?? and Why a centre oil pickup??

Many thanks,

Graham

just got to get the bearings out now !!

Centre oil pick up pipe stops oil starvation when cornering!

The oil strainer is a lot cleaner than the one which came out of mine!

They look good to me. Is there any pitting on any of the teeth or grooves on the cones?

They are all fine...Check the shafts are not worn by useing a digital micrometer...Sorry but im not sure what the reading should be, but so long as there is no difference between the bits where the bearings run and the rest of the shaft they should be fine...the layshaft certainly looks ok to me...

Cheers fellas,

just measured the layshaft and no discernable, (less than a thou), difference along the points where the roller bearings sit and next to them, so will keep all this lot. As I said the rest of the gears will be up tomoz !

The cones are the tapered part that the baulk ring bites on, the one you have pictured looks fine though.
