Hi,

just as it says really, but the box and diff and bell housing are alloy so do I etch prime first or straight on with a bit of hammerite, or do I need an alloy paint??

Thanks,

Graham

Hammerite straight over, or any with any other paint, etch prime, then paint.

Clean them rather than paint them , polishing them looks even better and isnt that much more effort with compound and a mop attached to a drill ;)

How does the mop cope with all the ribs on the casing and nooks and cranies on the diff??

Mine is purple, but I have been told that's normal

You could either use the smaller attachments that come with the kits, or as Southy did when he rebuilt my 'box, was to bead blast the exterior.
I got a polishing kit at christmas, and so far has been successful on rocker boxs, clutch housings, going to have ago at box casing with the smaller pads soon :).

The box casing still looks super clean, the underside is still clean even 8 months on - and theres no paint to flake off :)
