I think its fair to assume that it is a BINI!

Although we are a forum for all minis the number of members we have with BINIs is very small, and therefore we have a very limited knowledge base for BINIs.

However, I would suggest if your tyres have been fitted by a tyre company to go back and get them to sort it out, they obviously forgot to connect something.

Two possibilities, either the wrong wheels in the wrong places or they have not used the right tyre valves. The system uses transponders in the tyre valves to read the pressure and send the data to the central computer. Each of the valves is coded for a certain corner of the car and if the computer is getting the wrong code from each position then it messes up the readout. If your tyres are asymetrical though you won't just be able to switch them side to side, you'll have to go back and get them turned around. Either that or the wrong valves have been fitted. In general whenever you replace a tyre you replace the valve, except when this system is fitted to the car. If the garage that changed your tyres ahve been foolish enough to chuck away your original tyre valves and replace them with valves which don't have transponders then the system won't work.
Go to your Mini dealer and get them to check the system to see exactly what's wrong.

ive changed a few BMW tyres and you have to be very careful to avoid the sensor when breaking the tyres bead, the mechanic who changed it probably caught it with the tyre changing machine. ive heard of this happening a few times now :w00t:
