Not sure if this is the right place, but, I would like to ask how other peeps fix their bootlid liners to their bootlids?

This is my second lining kit now. The bootlid liner was stuck in place with sticky-back velcro - the glue of which has now given up the ghost (after 3 years, I fink ).

I'm reluctant to drill into her & fix it on with screws, although I will resort to it if necessary, but was just wondering how other people have fixed theirs in place?

Have you got any other solutions?

I used double-sided carpet tape for my Retro Retrims one. It's heavy like double sided duck tape. It's still stuck there, 3 years ish later!

Yesterday from Lidl's I got some 3M velcro type stuff though it is more the hard plastic and double hook type heavy duty. I bought to hold down sub to carpet in my other car. They had packs with strips and circles to.

bunch1980, that stuff looks good. Problem with going to Lidl is I normally come home with a boot full of cheese & something random from their this-week's-random-item-aisle!

Best thing is you can remove your liner then to if need be easily. I know feeling same here, since its around corner from work, come home with food or what ever is on offer even if dont need it lol, always lots of tools and things on offer to or household type stuff.

Here's a photo of my boot liner, just because it looks nice :) I can't use the rest of the kit in winter for fear of destroying it each time I need access to the washer bottle.

It's very well stuck on. I ran the 25mm wide tape along the 'beams' of the inner frame. I don't think it would come off again in one piece, so that's something to consider.

I'll try the 3M velcro first & see how the glue holds up.

I reckon the 3M stuff will stick very well usually its like you know what to a blanket once its stuck on lol.

Where are you guys getting your boot lining kits from if they are falling apart? I was looking at getting one from Optimise on here.

Mine is from Retro Retrims, and certainly has not fallen apart. Quite the opposite, it fits too well. It's such a snug fit that getting it in and out is quite difficult. It's great once it's in and doesn't move one bit, but my washer bottle is then hidden away. As I seem to be going through a gallon of screen wash a week, it's impractical to keep removing the kit.

My first one was the Mpi prototype from Retro Retrims. When it turned into a pile of sticky goo over a Sumer (a few years ago) Chris very kindly replaced it free of charge with a more substantial version. It's just that the glue on the velcro has died this time. The liner itself is fine.

I like it! I had though about adding a fill-up pipe that could be accessed with the boot liner in place, but I wouldn't be able to see when the bottle was full, and it's not a sealed container.

Is brilliant. I simply stuck a circular piece over the guide holes in the liner. Liner's held firmly, but is removable if necessary. Top tip, thanks Chap!
