So I've put a deposit down for a 1984 998cc Austin Mini City E in 'Clove Brown'. It's done 32k genuine. All the body work and frames are in excellent condition. It's got a centre dial which is cool. The dog tooth check seats are in near mint condition due to low mileage. The dealer I'm buying it off is fixing a few problems before I buy it: the gearbox is being reconditioned cause it jumps out accelerating in fourth, the speedo needs to be hooked up, there is a hole in the seal on the back window that causes milldew on the parcel shelf and the number plates are being changed. It's the smoothest mini I've tested and really nippy :)

There are a few minor (mainly cosmetic) things I want to address:
-the dash is terrible so would like to replace that with a custom-consoles one and add a matching console. I'd like to add a cd player/radio and a cigarette lighter, if i bought a console with the slots, how easy are they to hook up?
-there is only 1 mirror, so I'd like to add one on the left. as a first time driver, I need all the help I can get! is this possible?
-doesn't have speakers either so would ladd them along with a music player, possibly under the rear seats?

Any advice or suggestions on styling/colour schemes would be greatly appreciated. But the main reason for this post is to ask for people to tell me how much they think this is worth?

Many thanks, Ben

From a dealer, I'd say 2,5k.... my issues are it's not original, it should have 10" wheels and drum brakes, no arches, all the chrome should be black, and it's also missing it's decals, which suggests it's been resprayed.

Yupp dealer did notify my of change of wheels, and the the front right wing has been replaced. from the low level modifications and paint quality I'd say the decals are more likely to have been removed. Do you recognise the dial?

cheers!
