Of course, the Cibie's are double the price so I'm assuming they're better - but could you justify that much more money on them? I've sorted my overheating, almost sorted my oil leak - next problem is the 'directional candles' on the front, also known as sealed beams (god they're bad).
I'm aware that either kit will require me to wire straight from the starter with a relay in place and an in-line fuse for each light - I'm fine with that, but I really want good quality lighting. My local mech recommends just sticking a HID kit in there but personally I'm not a fan (and I hate HID users constantly blinding me).
Also, since I'll be running spots + a small sound system, the alternator will at some point be upgraded from the standard one in my auto 998.
Cheers,
Dan

In my '64 'S' rally car I have Hella H4 headlights and they, too, are superb with a pair of Super Oscars.

I fitted Wipacs in my Endurance rally Mini, then changed for Cibie's as they are much better. Then I fitted 100/80 w bulbs (available from Demon Tweeks). I upgraded the wiring and fitted 2 relays, one for each light. With the Cibie Super Oscar spots, also with 100 w bulbs the light output is fantastic.

Its not road legal though is it?
You can't have more than 55/60W bulbs was my understanding for legal purposes, or rather, 55W on the dipped atleast, with no limit for the mains as no one will be looking at them.
I've got Quadoptics in mine, and they're not amazing, but they're not bad. I'm sure they're better than sealed beams (I wasn't using sealed for long enough to remember how bad they were), but when there's a car coming the other way, I can barely see anything. But on main beam, with two 50W spots, I can see fine. My lack of visibility on dipped may well be my eyes, which are not used to driving in the dark,

I guess it's not legal, but I doubt it would ever get checked. I mean, breaking the speed limit is not legal either, and you're far more likely to be caught doing that really

When rallying I do like a lot of light down the road. At one time I had 130/100 w headlight bulbs, but my supplier ran out and I just replaced with 100/80.
