i want to smooth the front of my mini instead of having a front bumper and i just wanted to know if not having the front bumper is a mot failure,

and if anyones got a pic of their smooth front mini that would be awesome

as long as you take the lip off you'll be fine.

Smooth it out.
If you take it of and leave the lip, it's a sharpe edge and will fail.

How many modern cars have bumpers fitted like minis ? most (all ?) smooth plastic front ends, as long as there no sharp edges should not be a problem

Although the posters above have given a considered and thoughtful answer, and I would do as they suggest, the bumper mounting lip would not fail the test as it is neither the result of damage or corrosion. Below the only reason for failure,

. A sharp edge or projection, caused by corrosion or damage, which renders the vehicle dangerous to other road users, including pedestrians.

I've always wondered how the chrome headlight top covers that some people have don't seem to have this rule applied, they look perfect to slice into your leg if you were hit by one.

The previous owner of my car told me it failed the Swedish version of the MOT because of these!

mine have a rounded edge on the front
